Vent Space is designed as a private environment for personal emotional reflection. Most of what you write is meant for you alone. However, some features — such as Circles, connections, and direct interactions — involve other people. These guidelines are intended to keep that shared space respectful and safe.
The spirit
Be honest in what you express. Be respectful in how you respond. Assume that others are also navigating their own challenges.
What we encourage
Share honestly: Express your thoughts and emotions openly. There is no single correct way to feel or communicate your experience.
Listen with intent: Many users are looking to be understood rather than advised. Give space before reacting.
Support others: Encouragement, validation, and thoughtful responses contribute to a healthier environment for everyone.
What is not allowed
Harassment or bullying: This includes targeted insults, repeated unwanted contact, or any form of intimidation.
Threats or incitement: Any statement suggesting harm toward individuals or groups is prohibited.
Hate speech: Content that attacks or discriminates based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar characteristics is not permitted.
Sharing private information: Do not share personal or identifying information such as addresses, phone numbers, or images without clear consent.
Harm-promoting content: Discussions about personal struggles are allowed, but content that promotes, instructs, or glorifies self-harm is not.
Spam or solicitation: The platform is not intended for advertising, promotions, or commercial outreach.
Sexual content involving minors: This is strictly prohibited and will be reported to relevant authorities.
Impersonation: Misrepresenting your identity, including posing as a professional you are not, is not allowed.
Crisis situations
If you express intent to harm yourself or others, the App may provide crisis support resources. In serious situations, we may take further action, including contacting emergency services or appropriate authorities where required.
If you are in immediate distress, please contact a qualified professional or emergency service in your country. For example, in India: iCall (+91 9152987821), and in the United States: 988.
Reporting
If you encounter behavior or content that violates these guidelines, you can report it within the App or contact us at support@thedigitalhope.com with the subject line “Report”.
Consequences
Depending on the nature and severity of a violation, actions may include issuing a warning, removing content, restricting features, or suspending accounts.
