This Privacy Policy explains how The Digital Hope (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Vent Space mobile application (“the App”). We take your privacy seriously, especially because the App is designed for emotional reflection and wellness.
1. Who we are
The App is operated by The Digital Hope. You can contact us at any time at support@thedigitalhope.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect only the information necessary to make the App function effectively.
Account information: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. You may also choose to provide optional details such as a profile picture or bio.
Wellness content: This includes vents (typed or voice), reflections, capsule responses, mood selections, and any text you choose to enter. This is highly sensitive content and is treated with strict care.
Usage information: We record activity such as when you complete a vent or reflection, including timestamps, selected categories, and derived emotional signals used to display personal patterns. We do not track keystroke-level activity.
Device information: This includes your operating system, app version, and a push notification token (only if you allow notifications).
3. How we use your information
Your information is used to operate and improve the App, including enabling features such as vents, reflections, capsules, Inner Map, and the Living Tree.
We also use your information to send essential communications such as welcome emails, password reset instructions, and notifications you have chosen to receive.
Your input may be processed to generate AI-supported reflections, insights, and suggested actions. Additionally, we analyze usage patterns to determine when to show features like balance nudges and to improve overall system performance.
We do not sell your personal data. Your wellness content is never used for advertising, nor shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Use of AI
The App uses third-party AI providers, including OpenAI, Cohere, and OpenRouter-based models, to process your input and generate responses.
When you submit content, it is securely sent to these providers for real-time processing. The generated response is returned and stored in your account.
We use providers that contractually restrict the use of your data for model training wherever possible.
Because AI is central to how the App functions, core features may not work if you choose not to allow this processing.
5. Voice transcription
If you record voice input, it is processed by AssemblyAI for transcription. Audio files are deleted after processing according to their policies. Only the resulting text is stored.
6. Where your data is stored
Your data is stored using Supabase infrastructure, located in the Asia-Pacific region. Profile media is stored securely using Supabase Storage.
We use encryption both in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.
7. Sharing your information
We only share information with essential service providers required to operate the App, including infrastructure, AI services, notifications, and email delivery systems. These providers are bound by confidentiality and data protection agreements.
We may also disclose information if required by law or in situations involving safety or legal obligations.
We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
8. Your rights
You can access and control your data at any time through the App settings.
This includes exporting your data, permanently deleting your account, or updating your profile information.

9. Children
The App is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If such a case is identified, the account will be removed.
10. Not a medical service
Vent Space is a wellness tool and does not replace professional medical or mental health care. The AI does not provide medical advice.

11. Security
We implement standard security practices including HTTPS encryption, password hashing, and secure credential management.
While we take strong precautions, no system can guarantee absolute security. If you identify a vulnerability, please contact us immediately.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected in the “Last updated” date and may be communicated within the App or via email.
